Create Engaging Online Contests to Attract Leads

Online contests, sweepstakes, and giveaways have proven to be an effective tool for generating leads for your business.  Some companies have discovered the ability to capture leads through the use of a simple form requesting that the user input an email address for an opportunity to win the coveted prize.

However, if you want to improve your chances of attracting leads, start with evaluating whether your social promotions campaign engages your audience. More importantly, your users deserve a better online experience with your brand besides just offering the opportunity to win a prize.  And, you should want to build a community around your brand by building a campaign to which your audience would want to connect and promote naturally.

User Generated Contests Increase Engagement

Creating a contest based on entrants submitting content (i.e., photos or video) is a sure fire way to engage your target audience because now you have your entrant is more connected to the promotion if he/she submits their personal content — he/she now has a personal vested interest in the contest.

And, of course, the entrant is going to pass the word onto family, friends, and/or their fanbase to come vote for the content they PERSONALLY submitted for competition.

Leveraging Social Media Sites Increases Engagement

Don’t forget that the individual who enters your contest is your “Chief” lead because that person will steer all the other leads to your campaign to promote their entries.  So it’s smart to make sure your contest is leveraged on the top social media websites, i.e., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube etc.

The “Chief” lead will encourage their social followers to engage with your company’s campaign which is an added engagement.

Opportunity to Build Your Customer Database

Every component of an engaging contest is important, but it’s all for naught if your company fails to capture a lead to include in your customer database for future marketing campaigns.

So many companies have learned to count the number of individuals who have participated in their campaign to determine the success of the campaign.

The next step is to harvest the leads obtained from your campaign.  Remember your company has spent a lot of company resources (time and money) in planting the seeds of your campaign — and tending to your campaign throughout the duration of the contests, e.g., promoting on social media sites, advertisement, interacting with comments, etc.  So, make sure your team has developed an email nurturing strategy and management program to turn those leads into customers and sales.

Don’t delay, get started today on your social promotions.
